TruStone Financial Donates to Roseville Area High School Food Shelf

PLYMOUTH, Minn. (June 20, 2019)  TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union’s Roseville, Minn. branch recently donated $1,000 to the Roseville Area High School (RAHS) Food Shelf.

The RAHS Food Shelf was founded in the spring of 2012 by a group of students. The program provides food, school supplies and personal care items to students whose families are undergoing financial difficulties.

“In the busiest of seasons for the food shelf, like back-to-school season, there can be well over 150 students visiting the food shelf each week to get what they need,” said Megan Helmick, an English teacher at Roseville Area High School. “Without caring people, organizations and companies like TruStone, our Food Shelf would truly not be possible.”

Becky Walker, manager of the Roseville branch of TruStone Financial, expressed her appreciation for her staff as well as the RAHS Food Shelf. “I am very proud that TruStone continues to support the food shelf program at RAHS. It was started by students who wanted to help fellow students who were hungry, and it has now been in existence for 7 years. It’s inspiring to see Roseville Area High School students go above and beyond to be there for one another.”

This donation was made possible by funds from the TruStone Financial Foundation. To celebrate TruStone Financial’s 80th anniversary this summer, each branch will donate $1,000 to a nonprofit organization of their choice.
