TruStone Financial Employees Raise more than $10,000 for MN Nonprofit Simon Says Give

PLYMOUTH, Minn. (Jan. 8, 2019) — TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union’s employees raised more than $10,000 for the nonprofit Simon Says Give in 2018. In December, the credit union’s Minnesota employees raised almost $8,000 cash for the nonprofit by making and raffling off themed gift baskets at their holiday party. Combined with an earlier in-kind donation from a volunteering event that employees attended in October, the credit union’s total contribution to the nonprofit in 2018 was $10,040.

Simon Says Give is a nonprofit that helps celebrate the birthdays of underprivileged children between the ages of 5 and 12. The organization was founded by and is operated by children, giving them the opportunity to be involved in philanthropy projects that help other children while developing their own leadership skills. “We are so excited about this amazing contribution from the employees of TruStone Financial,” says Dina Simon, President and Chairman of the Board of Simon Says Give. “On behalf of the entire team, I thank you for your partnership and this large donation,” she told the credit union.

For contributing more than $10,000, TruStone Financial will be named as a Legacy Award Winner in Simon Says Give’s fall Legacy Awards.

“The mission of Simon Says Give clearly struck a chord within our organization, as demonstrated by the generous contributions and the extraordinary efforts made to produce a significant contribution,” says Tim Bosiacki, CEO at TruStone Financial.

TruStone Financial plans to focus on charitable giving throughout 2019, as supporting the communities it belongs to is one of the credit union’s core values.
