PLYMOUTH, Minn. (Feb. 6, 2020) – TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union’s employees recently helped raise more than $8,000 for Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute. In December, the credit union’s Minnesota employees raised $6,913 for the nonprofit during their annual holiday fundraiser, for which employees make themed gift baskets and raffle them off during the holiday party. Combined with money raised by employees and the TruStone Financial Foundation during a company-wide casual Friday fundraiser earlier that month, the credit union’s total contribution to the nonprofit in 2019 was $8,137.08.

Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, part of Allina Health, provides a range of rehabilitation and other services to people living with disabilities or injuries in communities in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Just some of the organization’s many services include physical therapy, balance retraining, chronic pain rehabilitation and speech therapy. The Institute’s mission is to help patients achieve their highest level of independence, health and wellness.

“We’re grateful to TruStone Financial for helping us continue to provide life-changing adaptive sports and recreation opportunities for youth and adults with disabilities,” said Megan Welty, Manager of the Sports and Recreation Department at Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute. “I recently had a parent tell me how participation in the program has given her son more confidence, especially at school when he is among his peers. Another parent shared that he appreciates how Courage Kenny doesn’t coddle his son; they push him to be his best and to challenge himself. Thank you, TruStone Financial, for your amazing commitment and support!”

“TruStone’s employees are proud to be able to support an organization whose work helps our neighbors thrive,” says Tim Bosiacki, CEO at TruStone Financial. “Courage Kenny helps make people stronger in so many ways, and our community is better because of their dedication and effort.”
